Pre Kinder Karate (3 and 4 years of Age)

Students in the Pre Kinder class will learn coordination and motor skills. The program’s foundation is built on focus and awareness while developing concentration, listening skills, and learning to be still. Pre-Kinder movement drills will also help develop reactions, speed, and control.

The Kinder Karate Program also helps this young age group improve their coordination and motor control, while having fun and working hard to achieve their next rank.

Kinder Karate students will start with a white belt and earn higher belts by demonstrating an understanding of the curriculum. Upon graduation from the Kinder Karate program, students will advance to our Kids Karate program.

Junior Karate Program

7 through 11 years of Age

The Junior Karate program will continue to build upon the building blocks of our Kinder Karate program such as building character, developing concentration and listening skills, learning respect for oneself and others, and improving self-esteem. Although this age group will now begin to work a bit more in depth in karate specific training which will require more coordination and on going development of karate motor skills.

In addition, those Junior Karate is introduced to the world of sport karate, with opportunities to prepare to compete at local karate tournaments, earn medals, and more.

Junior Karate begins working at Low and High belt system per level / color belt. This belt system is designed to help the student learn to work hard accomplish goals more frequently while having fun in the process.

12 through 17 years of Age

The Junior Karate training brings more than just the physical rewards of increased stamina, mental focus, coordination, balance and flexibility. Karate students also develop discipline, focus, respect for others and goal setting skills. Studies have shown that children who do karate often show significant improvement in concentration and self-discipline both in school and at home. The emphasis on personal achievement also builds confidence: success is within the reach of every student. Unlike team sports, there are no benchwarmers in karate classes. Children learn techniques at their own pace. Belt requirements offer a clear path forward at each step of the training process. While fighting techniques are part of martial arts, the emphasis is not on teaching children how to fight, but rather teaching them how to respond appropriately when confronted with negative influences such as bullying and peer pressure. Students leave classes with practical confidence-boosting skills.

Youth Karate belt system is the same Kids Karate implementing a Low and High belt system per level / color belt. This belt system is designed to help the student learn to work hard accomplish goals more frequently while having fun in the process. The intended purpose of more frequent testing is to help students learn to achieve success through becoming a more goal oriented person.
